Women’s Fashion:Hats, Scarves and Gloves
As winter sets in and hands start to chafe, a good pair of gloves are a necessity if you don’t want dry, sore cuticles and chapped cracked skin. Luckily, this season sees gloves making a huge statement on the catwalk so we will have more choice than ever on the high street and online.

Leather gloves are practical, hard wearing and look great combined with an aviator jacket (another big trend) for maximum warmth. Try sheepskin mittens for another trendy look and rest assured that no cold will ever penetrate them. Have you ever seen a sheep that looks cold?
Bright coloured, chunky knitted gloves are great and the more practical ones come with a ‘hood’ over fingerless styles so you don’t have to expose your whole hand to the biting winter winds when looking for that elusive something in your handbag.
Scarves are following in the ruffle trend this season and make a huge statement, as they are not the demure, flattering style of the blouses. These are a fun, funky way to wear a ruffle and the brighter the better! Animal prints are also popular, bring out your wild side with zebra print or wrap a leopard round your neck… in print, of course.
If animalistic style isn’t your thing but you’re looking for something bold, try a plaid or houndstooth print over a neutral coat for maximum impact.
Hats always bring the danger of ‘hat hair’, but with the varying styles of winter 2011, you won’t want to take them off anyway. Hats with ear flaps are continuing to be big this year, simply because they are so practical. Coming in a variety of fabrics such as sheepskin, bold prints for a statement piece or even velvet, they will keep you warm and looking great all winter. If your favourite coat has no hood… Try a snood! Available in chunky knits, these are a fantastic alternative to traditional hats and have the added bonus of keeping your neck and shoulders toasty too.
